Final leg of the vacay, we were back at the mainland for the flight, and the final shopping and fun.
South Bali is the party and happening place of the island - beach clubs, DJs, etc!!
Before that, catch up the whole Bali Series till now at Footboard, as this is gonna be the last and final!
We reached South Bali, with heavy hearts and not much of plans. It was in our list only for the final end-party, and some other small plans.
Till the first day’s afternoon, it took us to reach back in ferry (amidst a Yellow alert!) and to settle at the villa we had booked in Kuta Selatan.
In the evening, the only plan was -
Uluwatu Temple
It’s renowned for its magnificent location. Perched atop a steep cliff approximately 70 metres above the crashing ocean below, it makes for the most beautiful backdrop at sunset.
The history of this landmark is ancient and intriguing. Inscriptions mention that Uluwatu Temple was instigated by Mpu Kuturan, a Majapahit monk who is also credited for the establishment of several other key temples in Bali.
The main reason for visiting this place in the evening was the Fire & Kecak Dance -
Captivating Balinese Kecak and fire dance performances are held every evening at an amphitheatre nearby, where a troupe of around 75 male dancers descend onto the stage with extended arms and shaking hands, chanting a ‘chak!’ chorus repeatedly. As the sun goes down, fire becomes an increasing component of the ritual.
You will have go pre-book your tickets online or offline (post 4 PM everyday at the temple premises). There is a lot of crowd here, so be ready to get your tickets.
It is very subjective, but me and my friends really liked the different cultural dance, which we have never seen anywhere else. The story was simple - Ramayana!
As we understood, Bali and India have much similarities in culture and history - they follow the same Hindu mythology - Indira, Arjuna, Hanuman, Krishna, Ramayana, Mahabharatha, all are in their culture too.
Most of the words they use have deep connection to Tamil and Sanskrit also!
If it rains during the Kecak Dance, you will be given a raincoat as complement! Beware this temple is full of monkeys, don’t carry anything in your hand.
After this, we retired for the day with the Indian Premier League starting on the same night, we enjoyed the match from Bali
Next day, the last day there, was again a slow day -
We reached Kuta Beach, for the street shopping. Actually, the shops here are costly. So, better to make your purchases at Ubud or Tirta Empul or Oleh Oleh. You will get the same quality here, but at a higher price; negotiating here was very tough, and the people were rude too. The moment you bargain, they will start shouting at you!!
After all this was done, close to hours of shopping, we wanted to visit a beach club for a end party -
FINNS Beach Club is a world famous one, having branches in different countries - we went there, the entry is free, but as it was a Sunday, it was well too crowded. You can actually get the EXACT PARTY VIBE here. The whole club was in a total different vibe, and party people - make your way only here!!
If you want, you can also explore ATLAS Beach Club - the world’s largest beach club is in Bali FYI. We didn’t get much time to do this, but the pics were so captivating. Hope we had time for this.
After all this, we came back to the villa, started packing, and DONEEEE!!!
Took the next day’s flight, and returned back.
We made our transit flight change at Singapore Airport, exploring all the terminals😂 and the sky train, and the Vortex too.
Even if you don’t own a VISA for Singapore, there is a facility inside the Singapore Airport, which takes you around the Vortex on slot basis! We missed the slots😔 but if you are going, plan your travel accordingly.
After all the fun, we reached back home, and the Bali Series comes to a sweet and memorable ending here❤️
Thanks a lot for reading. Show us your love💖
